One Million Troops Ordered for Civil War?

Is Obama Really Preparing For Civil War?

According to an obscure report in the European Union Times (, “Russian Military Analysts are reporting to Prime Minister Putin that US President Barack Obama has issued an order to his Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) top leader, US Air Force General Gene Renuart, to ‘begin immediately’ increasing his military forces to 1 million troops by January 30, 2010, in what these reports warn is an expected outbreak of civil war within the United States before the end of winter.

“According to these reports, Obama has had over these past weeks ‘numerous’ meetings with his war council abut how best to manage the expected implosion of his Nation’s banking system while at the same time attempting to keep the United States military hegemony over the World in what Russian Military Analysts state is a ‘last ditch gambit’ whose success is ‘far from certain.'”

The EU Times article continues by saying, “To the fears of Obama over the United States erupting into civil war once the full extent of the rape and pillaging of these peoples by their banks and government becomes known to them, grim evidence now shows the likelihood of this occurring much sooner than later.”

The Times story goes on to say that there are “over 220 million American people armed to the teeth and ready to explode.”

The Times article concludes by saying, “Though the coming civil war in the United States is being virtually ignored by their propaganda media, the same cannot be said of Russia, where leading Russian political analyst, Professor Igor Panarin has long warned that the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the US is heading for collapse.”

Many of us would be inclined to pooh-pooh such a story, but then there is this column from entitled “Arming Goldman With Pistols Against Public,” written by Alice Schroeder. According to Ms Schroeder:

“‘I just wrote my first reference for a gun permit,’ said a friend, who told me of swearing to the good character of a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker who applied to the local police for a permit to buy a pistol. The banker had told this friend of mine that senior Goldman people have loaded up on firearms and are now equipped to defend themselves if there is a populist uprising against the bank.” Full Story

Obama’s Plan is Fueling Inflation, and Protests

Economists criticise US bailout plan

Americans are becoming increasingly anxious over how the economic crisis is being handled.

They are taking aim at Wall Street, and are protesting over the multi-million dollar bonuses paid to executives at the insurance company AIG after it was bailed out using taxpayers’ money.

Now economists fear that the US president’s strategy for economic recovery will fuel inflation.

‘I Wasn’t Down With Shooting Innocent People’

Accused Army deserter: ‘I won’t shoot people’

Instead of fighting for his country in Iraq, a Charlotte County teenager is in jail accused of deserting the military during basic training. He said it was a risk he was willing to take to avoid the horrors of war.

Lawrence Henson says he walked away from basic training in Fort Banning, Georgia back in 2007.

“If you’re voluntarily signing up for something, then you should be able to voluntarily leave,” Henson said. “I mean if it’s a draft I understand, but I volunteered.”

Unfortunately for Henson, the U.S. Army doesn’t see it that way.

During a weekend traffic stop of his friend, Charlotte deputies arrested Henson on an outstanding Army desertion warrant. He’s being held at Charlotte County Jail awaiting the Army’s next move.

Henson spoke Monday about his situation. He says he left the Army because “it wasn’t for me,” and says he’s opposed to the war in Iraq.

“I had my station in Texas and then I was going to Iraq within a month,” Henson said. “Me, I don’t even think we should be there, not in a war, and I don’t care, and I wasn’t down with shooting innocent people. I’m just not like that. I won’t shoot people.”

Henson says he’s been working a tree-trimming job while trying to stay out of trouble, something he says originally lured him to the promise of a better future in the service.

“Because I was getting into so much trouble around here, fighting, hanging around with the wrong crowd. They waved $20,000 in front of my face, and I’m a minor. I took that.”

This is the second time Henson says he’s been behind bars with the desertion charge. The first time was about a year ago in Gainesville.

“They released me pretty much on my own terms to make it to the airport without directions anywhere to stay overnight, and I missed that and just came home,” Henson said.

Despite his second time in jail, Henson says he isn’t ready to apologize for his decision to walk away.

“I don’t want to go back in so I’m not going,” Henson said. “I won’t go to Iraq. They can dishonorably discharge me all they want.”

Is Brzezinski Sounding a Warning Call?

Brzezinski is Obama’s top advisor.

Brzezinski: U.S. Recession Could Lead to Riots

Zbigniew Brzezinski, former National Security Adviser to Jimmy Carter, thinks America’s rich people should get together and create a fund to give money to America’s non-rich people. Pay it forward — or else. Here is what he alarmingly said today on MSNBC’s Morning Joe program (thanks to FinkleBlog):

Where is the monied class today? Why aren’t they doing something: the people who made billions, millions. I’m sort of thinking of Paulson, of Rubin. Why don’t they get together, and why don’t they organize a National Solidarity Fund in which they call on all of those who made these extraordinary amounts of money to kick some back in to [a] National Solidarity Fund?… And if we don’t get some sort of voluntary National Solidarity Fund, at some point there’ll be such political pressure that Congress will start getting in the act, there’s going to be growing conflict between the classes and if people are unemployed and really hurting, hell, there could be even riots.

Me: For a second, Brzezinski reminded me of Peter Venkman from “Ghostbusters”: “This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. … Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!” Now I have a better suggestion: How about the government let the “monied class” and everybody else keep more of what they earn so it can be spent or saved or invested.

Massive unemployment could lead to riots says Dr. Brzezinski

Unrest In the Time of Global Economic Collapse

Plunging economy leads to rising unrest

WTO chief warns of looming political unrest

The global economic crisis could trigger political unrest equal to that seen during the 1930s, the head of the World Trade Organization (WTO) said in a German newspaper interview Saturday.

“The crisis today is spreading even faster (than the Great Depression) and affects more countries at the same time,” Pascal Lamy told the Die Welt newspaper.

Questioned about the risks of political instability, Lamy — who wraps up his four-year term as WTO director-general in September — responded that that was “the main danger”.

“This crisis weighs heavily on politics and puts peace in danger,” he said.

“Some democracies are old and sufficiently stable to overcome such problems, (but) others are going to be confronted by unrest and inter-religious and inter-ethnic conflicts.”

He went on to warn against protectionism, saying it would be “wrongly easy” for nations to throw up trade barriers in response to the economic and financial downturn.

Launched in January 1995, and now with 153 member states, the WTO’s mandate is to liberalise international trade.
